Bela Vida is the name of our Pawtucket 35, a Peter Cole designed cruiser/racer yacht built in 1986. The idea behind the name came to us when we were looking at her and what she would add to our existing lives. "Bela Vida" is Portuguese for "Beautiful Life". We thought this to be both a nice and fitting name for a cruising yacht, since our dream is to sail her along Australia's East Coast and ultimately among the South Pacific islands as we progress along our journey of discovery, both personally and geographically.

Pound for pound the Portuguese were some of the greatest sailors and with that, discoverers of the world.
