Zinc'n NOT sinking!

So, actually read a manual for the Bukh DV24 engine that's installed on Bela Vida. Turns out they actually have zinc anodes internally, to prevent rust and corrosion to the engine.

Not the easiest locations to get to, but with a bit of time and perseverance I got the nut that holds the anode, out. Shock horror, there is only a bare bolt screwed into the back of the nut! The zinc has completely eroded and lost its protective properties god knows how long ago?! Thought the rust on the outside looked a bit out of place in some spots.

Anyhow, got the new anode installed and hopefully it'll slow/stop the corrosion to the engine till I have a chance to give it the attention it deserves.

For all of you out there, who have engines on their boats, check your manual if you too should change zinc anodes. Mine was around $13 and that is cheap insurance!
