Overnighter

Wednesday evening Jens and l set off on our first overnight sail on Bela Vida together.

We left St Kilda harbour around 6:30pm and sailed off into the sunset heading west towards Geelong. We watched an amazing sunset, passed some massive tankers on anchor, then cut across the bay and started making our way down to Mornington. The wind started to fade and so did Danni, so down below I went for a few hours sleep as Jens stayed up on deck at the helm. At about 3:30am Jens woke me up to tell me we were almost in Mornington. He had sailed back and forth a few hours to let me have my sleep, how lovely is he. I went up on deck and OMG it was such an amazing atmosphere. There was no wind, really calm and flat water, the moon was shining through the clouds sparkling over the bay and we even had a dolphin make its way past us. We motored into the harbour and dropped anchor at about 04:30am thursday morning.

After a few hours sleep and a breakfast coffee around 11:00am thursday we started to make our way back home to St Kilda. There was very little wind so we motored the whole way back and arrived back into our berth just after 4pm.

This is the first of many overnight adventures that we will have on Bela Vida and l can't wait to see where we end up next.
